About Jimmy Lee Manley By: M. Holland Upon first impressions, Jim Manley strikes you as a gentle man, the quiet intelligent type. I first met Mr. Manley as a student in his Calhoun community College Courses,Real Estate 101 - Real Estate Principles and Real Estate 125 - Real Estate Law, which I am currently enrolled in at Calhoun Community College. The long list of achievements that Mr. Manley has worked for include: Doctor of Jurisprudence- The Birmingham School of Law,BS Degree in Social Sciences- Athens State University,CBA- Certified Buyer Agent, ABR, # 215- Accredited Buyer Representative,(First one in the state and taught the first ABR course in the state also),ABRM- Accredited Buyer Agent Manager,( Was one of the first twelve in the Nation to recieve this designation), Certified Instructor-( 20 plus years) State of Alabama Real Estate Commission,and Certified Radon Measurement Specialist. These achievements show his willingness to work hard, his intelligence, and his drive and courage to go after his dreams. This impressive list is only a small part of who Mr. Manley truly is as a person and businessman. As a life long resident of the Huntsville area, Mr. Manley is married with three grown children and five grand children and has been a Real Estate broker for over 21 years. Mr. Manley is also an Army Veteran having served during both the Vietnam War and he and his son both served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm before he retired with 24 plus years as his units First Sargent.Mr. Manley is also active in his community in many organizations which include: BBB,NFIB,VFW-(Past State Commander),NRA-(5th Congressional District Legislative Chairman), DVA, VVA AMVETS, ELKS and a Master Mason and 32nd degree Scottist Rite and finally a past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. After being in his classes Monday through Thursday and conversing with him about the subject of Real Estate as well as his business I quickly learned that Mr. Manley is not the stero-typically asserted slick real estate man. On the contrary, it is apparent that he cares about his clients, students and people in general. He believes in justice, fairness, and getting the job done ethically. Admirable qualities found inspiring by at least one of his students. The Buyer's Agent of Huntsville Mr. Manley has owned and served as president for his company, the Buyer's Agent of Huntsville,for over 21 years. before starting his private corporation, Mr. Manley served in the miltary, worked for the Madison County Sheriff's Dept., The Madison County Board of Education ,TVA and taught at Calhoun Community College. Mr. Manley left TVA and began teaching at Calhoun College. Among the courses he taught were: Criminal Justice,( Interim Director North Alabama Police Academy) ParaLegal Program, (Limestone Prison), and finally the Real Estate Program since 1991 to present. He then established the Buyer's Agent of Huntsville, created by the true spirit of an entrepreneur, The Buyer's Agent is a genuinely a unique corporation and is currently the only one of its type in North Alabama. It is unique because most real estate companies represent clients both selling and buying properties but The Buyer's Agent of Huntsville, focuses strictly on serving the best interest of the buyers. With Alabama being a "caveat emptor" (let the buyer beware) state some agents will focus on the best interests of the seller in order to score the sell and make money from both sides of the transaction. Mr.Manley gave up half the business model and despite the odds against him to suceed.His strong belief that the buyer needed representation and to totally represent the buyer's interest he has put thier interests first, this has proven to be sucessful for his clients for his guidence. He limits himself and his agents to no more than three clients at one time. He believes that trying to represent more than three would be unfair and a disservice to his clients and himself.
